Stir Frygate

ModreB · 08/10/2018 17:32

I often make stir fry rice with veg, egg and chicken. DH has decided he wants to make it. I told advised him how to, but I can smell the rice burning, as he has not used enough oil in the pan and he's not kept it moving. WIBU to go and rescue the poor rice?

DISCLAIMER - this is DH's portion, I'm doing my own for once.

Or is this reason to LTB.

Disgusting unforgivable behaviour ltb lol

This is how kids learn...
They make mistakes and then make them again, then learn.
Grown men - I have my doubts about. Not sure ability to learn (or listen) has been retained

DeadBod · 08/10/2018 18:13

Why are you doing your own?

Butternutsqoosh · 08/10/2018 18:15

Because he always burns the rice?

ClaudiaWankleman · 08/10/2018 18:17

I think YAB slightly U because I am very much a fan of the burnt rice at the bottom of the pan - if you haven't tried it then you should.

Go with your gut OP! But whatever you do don't be the mug that gets left scouring a pan of burnt rice Grin.

SpoonBlender · 08/10/2018 18:25

Bit late now but I'd have gone with shouting through "You've burnt the rice! I told you you have to keep stirring it! That's why it's called a stir fry!"

RoseOfSharyn · 08/10/2018 19:14

I am deliberately trying to burn my dinner as we speak, because I love crispy potato skins and how red onion goes all sticky when it gets scraped off the bottom of the tray. DP enjoys this too. I don't think you are compatible. Ltb and find someone who shares your values on burnt food.

ModreB · 08/10/2018 19:37

I like burnt bits. I deliberately do them when needed. I do my own because:

  1. It's tasty.
  2. I cook it so I know it's cooked (DH has form for undercooking chicken)
  3. I'm sick of him flapping around in the kitchen looking helpless.

DH is actually a good cook, but under protest now the kids are all adults. He likes when I cook, but struggles as he doesn't know how many too cook for.

I said Hmm 2 or 4 portions , as it will do us twice or we can freeze some? DH reaction Confused
