Mistakes and overthinking.

Has anyone ever made stupid mistakes? And wished you could turn back the clock?
I have and I drive myself completely mad thinking about it, it's constantly in my mind and i don't have a minutes break thinking about it. Just interested to know if anyone else makes mistakes!

Too many to mention. Always look forward rather than backwards.

Babiesarelife · 30/09/2018 19:34

@WasFatNowThin probably not as stupid as mine 😑🙈

Affairs etc...

Emmageddon · 30/09/2018 19:36

Everyone makes mistakes. What have you done that is so dreadful?

Babiesarelife · 30/09/2018 19:42

@WasFatNowThin I command your courage to say that, and I hope your in a better place now.
@Emmageddon it's disrespectful embarrassing and disgusting. I showed my fiancé's sisters partner my New fake boobs. Just how I have showed my friends not meaning to be anything more than that. While drunk seemed perfectly ok. Now sober is ruining my mental state.

Multiple whooping great big ones and two many small ones to count. My brain likes to repeat them to me on a loop when I feel bad about myself. Brain seems to like making me feel worse by looping some stupid thing I said 25 years ago. I have a shite memory but every mistake is replayed in glorious technicolour in minute detail. Brain is a bastard.

I've found dividing 300 down in 3s until brain shuts up helps. Make a mistake, start again. Can go on for a while but seems to work ok.

Bluetrews25 · 30/09/2018 19:43

'The man who never made a mistake never made anything' is a very famous quote. We all do it.
Perfectionism is very hard to live with and we should all make it clear to our DCs that it's ok to make mistakes.
As long as you learn from them and don't keep repeating it and asking for forgiveness over and over again.
Or expect a different result when you keep doing the same thing.
Of course, there are scales of mistake from a spelling error to bringing down a major bank and kickstarting a global recession!

Thingsdogetbetter · 30/09/2018 19:44

X post but flashing boobs while drunk used to be one of my multiple small mistakes. Thank good I got old and they stopped being amazing and flashable! Lol

unequivocallyxo · 30/09/2018 19:46

@Thingsdogetbetter I am terrible for this. Just looping over things I said years ago that no one else would have even thought twice about at the time never mind care about years later. Anxiety brain!!!

Babiesarelife · 30/09/2018 19:47

@Thingsdogetbetter think the worst part is my partner doesn't know. And I keep wondering should I tell. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Christ mine were the worst part of my body since I remember hence why being so happy with them now 🤷🏼‍♀️ will never do anything of the sort again.

Well you haven’t committed mass murder, OP, just made a tit of yourself (pun intended!) while drunk.
Everyone does daft things, makes boobs (sorry!) regrets youthful silliness.
For goodness’ sake, forgive yourself and let it go. Every time your brain starts to beat you up about it, tell it firmly to stop, and switch to a memory of something good that you’ve done - a favour for a friend, a good mark in an exam, a nice meal that you made, a promotion at work, whatever. Focus on things that make you proud, not cringe.
And let yourself see the funny side. You’ll be telling this as an anecdote in a few years, and laughing about it, I promise.

This. Exactly. Couldn't have said it any better. We all make mistakes OP.

If it's eating you up and you feel as thou you should tell him then do. It was a drunken mistake and we have all been there

Babiesarelife · 30/09/2018 20:28

@LittleMe03 the only thing stopping me is who it is. If it was another friend male or female I wouldn't think twice. I just think it would cause awkwardness when it wasn't intended like that 🤦🏼‍♀️ I can't imagine his sister being too thrilled. Bloody alcohol 😶
