I don't, that's why I'm asking. I have received half a dozen missed calls from a colleague in the last few months. Missed, because I've been in the gym or in a noisy environment & couldn't hear my phone. Also I turn the sound off sometimes when I don't want to be disturbed. So when I look at my phone it says 'missed call from A'. I then return the call & they tell me every time that they didn't phone me, their phone 'must have done it by accident'. Hmm Does anyone else's iphone make calls accidentally? I get the feeling that this person is reaching out to me for attention in a bit of a childish way. We work in the same environment but totally separately. I've already had to mark out a clear boundary when I felt this person overstepped the mark a bit with physical contact.

And, he's married.

I do make a lot of calls that I don't mean to. Generally it's when I throw my phone down not very carefully or when I'm putting it in my bag. The thing that I don't get is the person it dials is never at the beginning or end of the alphabet and not on my recent calls either.

Judydoes2 · 30/09/2018 14:54

I have an old android that, when I've been on a call, it starts dialling someone else. Usually I notice(it's always a different person and I've never noticed a pattern, it's not say, always the last person I rang or whatever ) but sometimes I don't notice until I hear someone shouting to me from my handbag.
It could be a phone issue. It could also be someone being a prick (not helpful I know)! Maybe trust your intuition here.

Mine went through a phase of randomly dialling people. Went on for about a month before I managed to stop it😞 was very strange indeed.

BustersBloodVessel · 30/09/2018 15:09

My I phone randomly called people. It was a real arse pain. Wasn't even pocket calls.
Quick google search and it seems because I had Siri on, it would pick up key words/names and if it was in my contacts, it would dial said person.
Turned off Siri, problem solved Smile

My name starts with the first two letters of the alphabet so I get bum dialled a lot too. Not that often though, nowhere near.

I think because you’ve already had to speak about boundaries I would expect he is doing this on purpose and seriously consider blocking. Work email if you need me!

TheDarkPassenger · 30/09/2018 21:04

Although actually, if I ask my car to call ‘mum’ sonetimes it will call my sons friends mum Hmm and I have to scream end call about 75 times before it hangs up so she probably thinks I’m a huge freak of nature!

mogratpineapple · 30/09/2018 21:24

I don't believe in bum calls on modern iphones. You have to log in for a start. There were old phones where that happened all the time with my DH as his name began with A, but not since iphones came in and nearly everyone has one.

I've had iPhones since well, forever. WIth the original, I may have done this as I cannot recall it being password protected in the beginning. But since password protection, never happened. It automatically locks after a couple of seconds and now needs fingerprint of a passcode to unlock. Then, of course, it has to open the phone app, and contacts, and then scroll down tap a name and then call. Unless it's a recent person then that's slightly easier.

Whisky2014 · 30/09/2018 21:55

Tell him to delete your number and also why dont you just block his?

tamzinro · 30/09/2018 21:58

@Yummadoola if his iphone hasn't locked it's very easy to dial numbers accidentally , it's just one touch and it's done on my phone

C0untDucku1a · 30/09/2018 22:03

My dh had his phone in his pocket last week and went live on facebook. Thankfully he was only brewing up.

If youve had issues with him before id definitely block.

AuntieStella · 30/09/2018 22:03

The only accidental calls I've had from iPhones (or made from mine) is hitting the name next to the intended one on the contacts or recents list, or pressing a name on the 'recent' list when you meant to swipe it to delete - both essentially the result of clumsiness

Only pocket dial I've had for ages is from FIL who has a brick phone.

No idea about snags of voice activation as I've got that turned off

cheekkatb · 30/09/2018 22:07

I once leant over and belly dialled my sister.

Bluntness100 · 30/09/2018 22:12

My husband and I both have iPhones. Mine is in a case. I never pocket call anyone. My husbands isn't and he constantly pocket calls people. It's ridiculous and he has no clue he's done it. Sometimes he can pocket call me four times in a row, and I can bloody here him talking, I even saw a message from his boss saying "another pocket call?"

So yeah it happens.
