People need to stop assuming

One of my biggest bugbears is people who make assumptions .. I never make assumptions about people the way I know a lot of people do about others and I am not sure why that is , anyway ,people ,if you are an assumed , you need to stop .
One such instance is my cat will not come in . I haven't seen her for 2 days , when she does come in she meows constantly at night and in early hours of morning by the front door to go out , the meowing is a very annoying Meow that has kept my children awake . I know that someone is definitely feeding her and letting her in their house because I had another cat who was being fed by my neighbour who did the same thing and my neighbour ended up keeping her when I moved home . Anyway , my neighbour here commented that if I don't want my cat in the house I shouldn't have a cat and that it's sad to see my cat out in the rain . Well if my cat won't come in and I don't know where she is what am I to do ? it is assumed that I am not looking after my cat and no doubt it's all over Facebook like other assumptions that have been made. If you don't know facts please don't assume .

Huh. Why would you assume it's all over face book?

What an odd thing to assume,,,

Anyway, what was it you were saying about people not assuming?

Bluntness100 · 12/09/2018 21:51

And you had this happen with a previous cat?

pallasathena · 12/09/2018 22:12

I think you need to get out more....

RebelRogue · 12/09/2018 22:32

Why are you assuming someone else is feeding your cat?
Why are you assuming it's all over facebook?

A tiny bit of irony there..

Elephant14 · 12/09/2018 22:40

This is posted in Relationships where people are having to pour their hearts out as their marriages etc collapse or have abusive partners etc. Hmm

dirtybadger · 12/09/2018 22:41

If your neighbour said that why not just correct them? Why would someone put it on Facebook? Bizarre.

FlowerpotFairyHouse · 12/09/2018 22:43

How is this a relationship issue?

Rebecca36 · 12/09/2018 23:01

I had a cat who chose to sit on the doorstep (he could get around the side to the back of the house where there is a cat flap), in pouring rain, completely bedraggled, looking neglected. I daresay passers by thought we were neglectful but he loved rain.

Cats are cheeky things. People are even more cheeky, they shouldn't make assumptions.

if you are worried about what people write on Facebook, then you have more issues than a cat. Let them say what they like-it makes no difference.
Your neighbour has made a passive aggressive comment and has many more issues than a cat. Ignore. It is not her cat and none of her business.
Cats are independent creatures. As long as your cat is fed, watered and has somewhere to go to keep dry/warm, then he/she will be fine. Some don't want to be inside. The only issue with the cat would be if he/she were showing signs of stress. If the meowing is excessive, has he/she been neutered?

youarenotkiddingme · 13/09/2018 06:52

Do you have a cat flap? Then they can get in and out as they please!

TokenGinger · 13/09/2018 07:08

You’ve assumed we give a shit 🤔

JungWan · 13/09/2018 07:09

I'd put up a status ''wish six dinner sid would come home'''

Lostandfound81 · 13/09/2018 07:15

Odd, very odd OP

Angelf1sh · 13/09/2018 08:13

I assume you’ve posted this in the wrong place.
