So I'm looking for people's best post break up pick me ups. What do I do now to stop this feeling of heartbreak and start feeling better in myself.

Things that help me:
Talking to friends about it as much as I can
Focusing on the bad things about the ex
Getting out the house and keeping busy
Coming on Mumsnet and seeing I'm not alone
Accepting I'm going to feel crap for a while
Taking 1 day at a time
Flowers

Dance. Particular the free-form kind. Go to a 5Rhythms session; join a class; go to a nightclub; find an all-night illegal wilderness rave and dance like a wild thing on MDMA. All of these float my boat, but pick what does it for you. Dance is great for practicing being in your body and expressing anxieties and insecurities and just reenergising.

Make a list of all the reasons why it’s good you’re no longer together. Even if it wasn’t you who instigated the break up, there will be plenty of those reasons.

Lick your wounds. It’s okay to take the time to feel sad and sorry for yourself for a bit. That’s part of the healing process, too. Write your feelings down, if it helps - the process of writing can give you clarity and help you work through how you feel.

Do something new and possibly outside your comfort zone. Book a solo holiday, join a club, take up a sport. Do something which, a year down the line, you can look at and say I’ve achieved that, all by myself.

All the best Smile

Immerse yourself in

Mindfulness meditation, Buddhism, Taoism, Zen, Yoga, Change diet and exercise. Read self help books that help you realise who you really are.
One day at a time...........

Volunteering, maybe a homeless shelter or an animal shelter? That can help you break from your thoughts by helping others.
