Hey all.
So, I’ve been with new partner for 9months now! I’ve got a little girl - age 3. I’m in no rush for them to meet but would make my life a little easier.
My main question is how do I go about telling dd Dad?
Do I have to tell him? How do I word it?
Thanks in advance! Xx

Depends what relationship you have with your DD dad. Can you share those things? It isn’t really his business atm as your daughter and new partner haven’t met. Would be a good idea to let him know ahead of a meet but as I said that depends on your relationship with him and how well you get on. Really I think this kind of thing is down to the individual.

Good luck!! X

Thank you.
I left him so therefore he doesn’t like me very much.
He’s a bit of an idiot if truth be told and still trying to control the situation. I know he will go mental either way but thought if I ask in here if anyone else had similar situations xx

I was In this position 10 years ago, I don’t think he needs to know who you’re dating.
Only if you’re introducing your child to someone.
I was Absolutely petrified of telling my ex due to him being controlling & violent.
It didn’t end well, he tried telling me that he didn’t trust my judgment of picking a Good bloke. Good point since he’s an utter prick.
He wanted complete control over when I introduced my DD to my boyf. Even to the point he said I had to ask permission. 😂
He threw some threats, shouted, called me names, but my boyfriend moved in anyway. He still hasn’t accepted the fact that his daughter has a step-dad. 10 years we haven’t been together, he has a major
Chip on his shoulder over being left by me and the fact that I did find a good Bloke, someone a lot better at relationships & respect than him.

I don’t know what the best thing to do would be, I preferred to tell him and get the bullshit thrown at me when I expected it.
Rather than worrying that he will Find out, and getting an unexpected violent call round.

Wow! That sounds exactly like what I suspect my situation will be like!!
What did you do when he tried to control the situation? X

Would he tell you about a new girlfriend? Was that an agreement when you split? That you tell each other of new partners?

I don't see that it's his business tbh.

Fadingawayagain · 27/08/2018 09:32

In that case it is none of his business, I hope he doesn’t make it too difficult for you x

Username987 · 27/08/2018 10:21

Oh no way would I tell him that I’ve got a new partner BUT do I ask for permission about LO meeting him? X

I ignored all of his bad behaviour. Walked away,Phone off, door locked,
You do not have to ask him permission.
