Ours is definitely housework!

Money. This has been a constant issue for us since we got together (19 years ago!) he is a saver, I am not. He has a spreadsheet... I just buy stuff when I need it.
Other than that, we get on pretty well, apart from the occasional arguments about lack of help with housework and working too much...

quensuelabananahammok · 23/08/2018 22:59

His mother... the one and only thing we argue over

Daddyto2monsters · 23/08/2018 23:02

sex (typical male thing I suppose)

GiraffeObsessedBaby · 23/08/2018 23:08

His moodinesss and my mumbling Grin

Branleuse · 23/08/2018 23:08

Tone of voice. Hes a grumpy fucker

tigercub50 · 23/08/2018 23:30

So glad to put that we argue much less than we used to. One of DH’s main gripes is me covering the bed with stuff when I’m having a sort out then leaving it there if I get sidetracked & he ends up having to move it. Even then it’s not really arguing. Sometimes we clash on parenting (hardest job in the world) & sometimes on spending (mine). But because we are communicating so much better, it doesn’t happen very often & when it does it gets sorted out quicker. God, I couldn’t bear it if things ever returned to how they used to be. DH engineered arguments then twisted everything to make me the bad guy. He was so angry so much of the time.

LadyLapsang · 23/08/2018 23:41

Ipswich, why would you argue for five years about a dishwasher? If mine broke down I would be at John Lewis straight away for a new Miele.

Mrskeats · 23/08/2018 23:44

We don’t argue v much but if we do it’s usually about his ex and her latest mad request

Tortycat · 23/08/2018 23:51

Usually minor petty gripes when we're both tired, about who does more housework/ has most free time (v ltd due to young dc).

Bigger rarer disagreements about
-how much time/ effort we make with family (and his lack of effort to be nice to my mum).

  • my indecisiveness and procrastination
  • his refusal to ever admit he's wrong
  • his wish to move abroad/ area.
parklives · 23/08/2018 23:53

Tiger how/why did your dh change? Or is it a new dh?

Booboopidoo · 23/08/2018 23:54

Trust. He’s lied about (fairly minor) stuff over the years and now I struggle to believe a word he says. I can see where it comes from, his dad was/is a controlling bully and he had to lie to have any sort of life growing up, but knowing that doesn’t make it any easier for me to deal with Sad

Littlechocola · 23/08/2018 23:55

Money!

Iwantaunicorn · 23/08/2018 23:58

Who got the least sleep
Housework
DTs routine and breaking it
Clingy family

Mainly all caused by lack of sleep, I think we’ve finally reached a point where we’re too knackered to even argue anymore, and mainly just mutter to each other about how tired we are and gift each other a lie in.

thenightsky · 23/08/2018 23:59

His snoring. It's the reason I'm awake now, typing this.

Ariela · 24/08/2018 01:24

We just don't argue. I can't ever think of anything we've argued about. That doesn't mean we agree on everything, but we do respect each other's opinions.

Rosetintedglass · 24/08/2018 07:34

We dont argue. We discuss all of the above (except the dishwasher) in quiet measured tones. With giant exaggerated eye roles and internalised screams.

southernharp · 24/08/2018 07:35

We used to argue about
My snoring
My spending
My not doing as much housework as he would like
My reading
My lying in on a Sunday, even before kids
My clothes choices
My working too late
My cooking too late

Um, I might see a pattern here

SteamingPistons · 24/08/2018 10:14

Money

yetmorecrap · 24/08/2018 10:35

Sex , I’m not that bothered (never have been after first few years with anyone)

Frosty6611 · 24/08/2018 10:39

The fact he wears muddy shoes on the carpet no matter how many times I remind him to take them off at the door.

He can have very hot/cold moods too depending on how tired he is.

hamburgers · 24/08/2018 10:49

Money

chipsandgin · 24/08/2018 10:51

Money. Or rather the relentless stress of the lack of money. Very tedious.

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 24/08/2018 11:01

Not taking his work boots off when he comes in
Not using a plate to butter bread/toast then leaving the crumbs
The way he leaves the upstairs looking like a tornado has hit after he baths the kids
His driving
His excessive PS4 use
When I ask him to do something he 'forgets' then I have to ask another 2-3 times before he does it then he gets arsey with me for going on
His 40 minute shits that he conveniently needs at kids tea time/bath time/in the middle of housework

I do love him and he has lots and lots of good points Grin

AlwaysInJods · 24/08/2018 11:23

@Failingat40 are you me 😂😂

blamethecat · 24/08/2018 11:30

Housework, he claims he does his share (hoovering about once a month and tidying up after me Hmm, I disagree, we both work full time I do the rest of the house work as no bugger else will do it. Today we had a full on screaming row because I had asked him to bring the bin in and he only half brought it in, leaving it blocking the path, he then edged round it to get out this morning. lazy fucker . It was a bit over the top but I am sick of it.
