What to do with all my stuff

I've been having a clear out which has been a gradual process.
The first load of stuff I put in ebay, mostly children's clothes and shoes that no longer fit, most of it sold but a few items didn't and to get rid I donated them to charity.
It was quite a faff on doing countless trips to post office and wrapping up parcels but I was grateful to have made a small amount of money back in some expensive stuff.
My next load is mainly stuff from my wardrobe, all good quality and some really nice dresses, shoes etc.
Now I don't expect as much money back from these and I was thinking of just selling on a car boot stall.
I've never done a bootsale before, although I have been a few times as a buyer.
Will my clothes sell? And if so, how much are people willing to pay for say a dress? How would I present them? I purchased a hanging rail but it buckled under the pressure.Grin
Organising it all has got me more stressed out than the ebay way.
What is the best thing to do with all this?
Any advice welcome x

Sorry to post on the wrong board and I don't know how to move it?

There are agencies/shops which sell good quality pre-loved clothes. If the ones you no longer want are designer, or high end high street (think Jaeger, Karen Millen, Hobbs, Jigsaw, etc.) then they will sell them for you in exchange for a percentage of the selling price (usually about 30%-50%). They’re also always on the look out for bags, scarves, shoes, hats, gloves, and good quality costume jewellery. In Hampshire you can find ones in Winchester and Romsey, but if you google Dress Agency’ you should be able to find one locally. They do need to be well cared for.

They are well looked after items but not brands, well, not expensive brands. Mainly asos etc

If you know roughly what you paid and what you think is fair sell for what you want! My Primark t-shirts I'll sell 50p something I know I paid loads for even if not branded I'll make up a price and let people barter me down! See what people offer :)

OK, thanks! I've pricedy stuff at very reasonable prices, if I can't get the asking price I am just going to give them to charity x

ASOS, Topshop, River Island kind of stuff I've found sell failed well on eBay. If it's more Primark, H&M kind of stuff then I'd say car boot it

polkadotpixie · 21/08/2018 06:12

*fairly well, not failed well...it's too early! 😂

If you are on Facebook join the selling groups for your area. I've sold everything from boots to bowls Smile

I did a massive decluttering few years ago following the Marie Kondo book.
I tried to sell stuff on eBay, at nearly new / new to you sales and at baby clothes sales. I found it an utter waste of time and energy and ended up giving everything to charity.
When it’s gone it’s gone and suddenly it’s no longer a massive cloud hanging over you!

Toptheginup · 21/08/2018 06:25

YES, @wutheringfights that is how I'm feeling, like I just want rid of it now, not particularly bothered about making a fortune off it but a lot of it is nearly new.
The last lot I gave to women's aid and I'd rather it went to someone who needed it than sell for say £1.
