Puff the Magic Dragon - is there something wrong with me that it made me cry as a child?

I just heard the song 'Puff the Magic Dragon' and it made me sob. I couldn't bear to hear it as a child either at school - same tearful effect.
What's wrong with me?

Teddy Bears’ Picnic always made me cry along with You Are My Sunshine.
Funnily enough, they both make my DD tearful when I sing them to her (nothing to do with the quality of singing!) but I think it must be the effect of the minor key or something.

I sing Baby Mine from Dumbo to my son and I have yet to complete the first verse coherently Grin

There must be something wrong with me, because it didn't make me cry – it made me laugh. And I always hated Peter Paul and Mary. Airy fairy Peter Paul and Mary. But don't let me piss on your chips!

My grandfather was in Vietnam, he flew on a DC3 gunship called Puff the magic dragon. They played the song full blast out the side of the aircraft while they fired on the target.

The end of the last Pooh bear book, where Christopher Robin is packed off to prep school at some tender age, leaving lPooh behind always makes me well up.

Oh my days! I'm a new mum to a 7 week old dd, I also lost my dm in September last year. I have just listened again to puff the magic dragon and baby of mine and it's safe to say I am now in floods of tears. I still can't watch Dumbo without crying. I remember my mum giving me big cuddles when I first watched it as a child, I think I even managed to set her off too.

Sorry everyone for bringing all this back - but thank you, it has made me feel more normal!
I came from a family where softness equals weakness, and am just getting my head around it that it's ok to be me - tears for weird reasons and all!
