He has just said that he is disappointed that I did not make an effort to be more trim for our recent holiday .... I am a size 6-8 !! I am so angry and to be honest fed up with his obsession with keeping fit that I have ended things .....
I think I am doing not too badly in my 50's .... have I over reacted in telling him to get stuffed....?

babbi I too am so impressed with you, mostly for binning off that rubbish but also for remaining so slim into your 50's.

I am menopausal and although I've lost some weight and am back in a size 10, it's a struggle like never before and this is more than enough effort for me personally. I think you're fabulous!!

Huskylover1 · 28/07/2018 15:14

So, he wants you so thin, that you can't buy clothes from High Street shops? Not many go smaller than a size 6, do they?

I presume his dick works just as good, as when he was 20, yes?

Parky04 · 28/07/2018 20:16

He sounds so dull. Life is for living!

babbi · 01/09/2018 22:19

Sorry , sorry and sorry again ... for coming back to this ...
Thanks to everyone for their previous support ... I have now gone 5 weeks no contact since this post ...
I know it was the right thing to do ending this relationship..
But I’m so low tonight ...
I really loved this man and can’t believe what a shallow person he turned out to be ... it hurts like hell ...
but I’ll get through it eventually 🙏

Gotta be tough and focused.... hugs to anyone else with a broken heart right now .... it really isn’t easy even if your head tells you that you have done the right thing .....

You absolutely did the right thing and by letting him go you are making way for new, more positive, connections in your life. That has got to be a good thing!

50Running50 · 01/09/2018 22:29

He must be regretting saying it by now

I feel for you

BlueJava · 01/09/2018 22:32

I find that completely bizarre. Size 6-8 and he wants you trimmer - and who does he thinkhe is to want this anyway.

babbi · 01/09/2018 22:32

Thanks MudCity for replying . It’s very kind of you 😀
i know it’s for the best .. and I will be ok ... one really rough night is really not the end of the world 🌍

Have a nice evening x

And thanks to 50 and blue too xx

It really helps to have a little support x

You've managed this far without contacting him, don't do so now - you may be having a difficult time at the moment but someone like that, with that sort of attitude would only drag you down

Doingreat · 01/09/2018 22:43

Don't apologise coming on here op. Glad you've been strong thus far. Of course you will feel sad. You're grieving for someone you thought you might grow old with.
Be kind to yourself. Post here whenever you need to.

NadiaLeon · 01/09/2018 22:45

While it's natural he wants his wife to look as great as possible and her health to be good, he sounds a wazzock. I think you're well shot of this rotter.

RedAndGreenSeen · 01/09/2018 23:01

he sounds a complete twat and weirdo, and a boring one at that. you are so well shot of him OP

SusieOwl4 · 01/09/2018 23:16

Are you sure he has not been seeing someone else and trying to twist the blame on you ? Because I have never heard anything so ridiculous. I really struggle with my weight due to an autoimmune disease, would he look after you if you were ill ? Does not sound like it . Self obsessed seems more like it . It’s the person inside and their heart that counts and the fact that he has not apologised or come to his senses seems a bit odd.

babbi · 02/09/2018 22:53

Susie ... I think you could be reading my mind !!!

I smell a rat ... something just isn’t right here ...

You guys are all great and I thank you sincerely for your support and kind words ....
I’ll be sure to update you all .... there is definitely more to this ..,,
My gut is telling me ..,,

OP posts:
Musti · 02/09/2018 22:59

How can you be smaller than a 6-8? That's not the point I know, but curious!

babbi · 02/09/2018 23:05

😂😂Musti - I know . ... unless I was 14 .. regret 50s - lol

OP posts:
IdahoJones · 02/09/2018 23:07

If you smell a rat, there's usually a rat.

You seriously did the right thing ending it. There are so many nice people and situations in the world. Don't let him put chains on your desire for them and your ability to find them. He's a ratty minnow.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 02/09/2018 23:09

He is a twat. You’re well rid of him.

Doingreat · 03/09/2018 00:09

You're my hero, Op. You loved yourself enough to say enough is enough and got rid of the twat. You rescued YOU from a miserable relationship and what's more, you did post-haste. Don't give him any more headspace. He's not worth it.
