Can you talk to your OH about anything no matter how small and insignificant?
Something really petty was bugging me today so I called DH while he was out to talk to him about it, and instead of listening he told me I am pathetic and grow up.

And now looking back it seems to be a pattern, anytime I need to rant I am told that iabu, and it's always my fault, no matter what the situation is.

Well... I've got to say if I was out and about doing stuff, I would only expect my partner to contact me if it was urgent.

"DS needs picking up from football and the car won't start" - urgent
"my sister posted something passive aggressive on Facebook" - not urgent

I think my husband would be annoyed too if I rang him about little things, things that could wait until he got home.

chinupandsmile · 14/07/2018 21:05

He was out. I'd just picked up the kids from my sisters after I finished my shift. He was going straight to his shift so I wouldn't have seen him until tomorrow.
He always calls me throughout the day sometimes even if I'm at work to rant about something or ask how to put the washing machine on.

Yes I can/do talk to him about anything but am sometimes told I'm being daft, at those times I almost always am. It's not healthy to dwell on and moan about petty things - you said it was something petty yourself so your DH was probably right. If it's a pattern are there other things going on that are getting you down that then make you more susceptible to being easily irritated?

chinupandsmile · 14/07/2018 21:12

I think I just need someone to talk to, he always dismissed me and my feelings yet I have to sit and listen to the same thing 2/3 times or he gets moody and tells me I'm not very supportive.

It sounds like you need to sit him down in person op and explain that.

I have tried, the last time he walked out and went to the pub.
We have been married 10 years, it's always been the same

If its always been the same then why would it change op? Do you want the rest of your life like this?
