Take Husband of house insurance?

He has moved out and is no longer contributing financially. His name is still on the mortgage and house is jointly owned. Should I take him off the house insurance? Can I? There are some joint life policies as well. What about those?

Have you reached a financial settlement yet or is it still early days? If the latter I'd probably sit tight for now.

Hi before you do that you need to speak to a Lawyer to know where you
stand legally before you do anything like that ,hope it works out for you .

I’d say No. If he is hit by a bus, presumably life insurance will pay out and you will own the whole house mortgage free. (of course, same applies in reverse if you kick the bucket)
For same reason I wouldn’t sever the tenancy either, otherwise if he is hit by a bus you might have to buy his half, or sell house.
Wait till financial settlement is done and dusted.

Thank you all. That makes sense for the life insurance. What about the buildings and contents? He is not contributing to that.
