Eating together

Just wondering if this is normal? In a long distance relationship and partner came to visit on Sunday. Made some sandwiches for lunch and he ate his indoors watching something on the computer whilst I sat with my children in the garden and we ate ours. We were in the shade so not sitting in direct sunlight! Unreasonable to feel a bit put out? I'm sure if I went to his house and said I was going to watch tv whilst he had lunch with his children, he'd think this was a bit weird?

How long have you been together? taking it they are not his kids?

I find that rude!

In general I think everyone should sit together while they eat in our house. I think he was a bit rude, unless whatever he was watching was something that doesn't happen every day.

Extremely rude! Especially as it's a LDR! It's not like you're married 20 years and see each other every day, he's basically saying "I hardly ever see you, and on the rare occasions I do I can't be bothered to actually spend time with you". Unless he's sensational in every other way I couldn't be bothered with that level of disregard.
