Coworker is driving me insane!!!

I returned from leave last year. I was off for one year. In that time, a new co-worker joined my workplace, having being promoted from another department.

Coworker and I are now at the same management level, however I have 2 years more experience than her in the role.

Cooworker is very organised and does bring some positive attributes to the team. The problem is, she continually acts superior to me and others at the same level. It drives me insane. She communicates via email to us as if she is our boss. She is ambitious, like me, however she will happily tear someone else down to get to the top. It's all about making herself look good. How on earth do I deal with such a person. I am at the point of being in a meeting and wanting to scream fuuucccckkkk offff.

Feed it back to her, let her know how she’s making you feel before you do lose it with her! Nothing wrong with constructive feedback Grin

Yes I'm sure you're right. Must remain professional. Wine

Sounds like you’re a bit jealous OP, you’re at Management level yet you can’t deal with this? She doesn’t sound irritating though. Do you think it’s best to let her act the way she does, as others will get fed up quickly too? Don’t let her behaviour bring you down or bring out the worst in you! From experience people like that don’t stick around long as they get a “better” job elsewhere.

Does sound irritating** sorry!

Aw12345 · 04/06/2018 21:41

Grr how annoying.

Have a similar situation, someone (not my boss) who manages another team (that I'm not in) telling me my hours, quoting parts of my contract to me etc. Drives me mad too. Why has she even read my contract?!?!?!?

I agree to feed it back to her if at all possible, easier said than done though. You could try in a subtle way I guess... Don't know how though really. Must be so annoying. Anyway, i think it's better to bring it up before you lose your cool and then she has the high ground. Wine

I would ignore her and quietly push back. She will get frustrated soon enough and leave.

So I read a quote today and it really put things into perspective for me - no-one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

It completely changed my attitude when we worked together today.

Thank you for the honest responses from all posters.
