My partner snores so loudly,
I'm almost 7 months pregnant and I'm at my wits end!! Can anyone recommend anything to lesson or prevent the snoring!

Firstly he should get checked by a doctor for sleep apnoea as it can be a danger to health . Secondly buy the soft earplugs that squish in your ear from amazon . Thirdly if possible have a spare bed made up just in case . Trust me without the earplugs I would be divorced by now .

But please make sure he goes to the doctor as well .

Firstly, why is he snoring? It could be weight related or just small airway at some point so the solution would be different depending on the cause.

You can try the likes of Snore Ban to see if it’s upper. There are nose clips and mouth guards worth trying. If they do then good. ENT advised trying for at least 3 weeks.

Also for me the foam earplugs weren’t affective and kept falling out. I had made to measures done which was s god send but we still slept separately and on separate floors it was that loud.

Nose clips and mouth guards don’t work should go to the GP and ask for a referral to ENT. ENT will examine him and do a questionnaire to asses how his life is effected and likelihood of sleep apnea and maybe order a sleep study. Unfortunately my DH didn’t score high enough for a sleep study but was advised to try renting a CPAP machine for a week anyway. If he’d done as told we’d have save years if aggro and lowered his health risks but he was determined he didn’t want a CPAP as he was adament he’d not be able to sleep with the mask and tube.

Eventually he paid to see a private ENT in the hope of getting an operation instead of just renting the CPAP (the fuckwit!). He was told the same thing and despite not scoring highly enough on the questionnaire because it was private he was given the option of the sleep study. He did this and it was conclusive. Anything over 35 episodes an hour is moderate, my DH averaged 96! The private clinic set him up with a loan CPAP to try. Despite his assertions he’d not be able to sleep with the mask and tube he had an amazing sleep and has never looked back! The NHS funded his CPAP thanks to the sleep study results.

It’s only now he sleeps properly we realise the affect it had on his personality. Plus he doesn’t randomly nap when travelling now. Best of all, risk of stroke and other health issues is lowered and we can sleep together again.
