Marriage over? Practical advice

So it looks very much like my marriage is over one way or another. I don’t want to get into why but I want to ask from a practical point of view what are the things that I need to think about and organise in the run up to a potential divorce, divorce and afterwards. It would be my intent to remain in the family home and take over the mortgage, I think I can just about manage this financially. So practical minded people please give me your best single mother/divorce advice.

Hi there I'm sorry about your situation. Even if it's what you want its still hard.

I'm newly divorced and we seperated over 2 years ago and have a son together. We got to a point however that we agreed with the separation so got a separation agreement put in place. This just got all the nasty stuff out the way such as child access and belongings. Thankfully it was done quickly as we both agreed to the terms.

I moved in with my parents with our son but we shared 50/50 access.

2 years on we are now divorced, I own a lovely house and we still share custody. My little boy had adapted with ease but he is only 5. I am with a new parter and we love each other very much.

You will get there, time heals and makes everything easier.

Let me know if there's anything in particular you need advice on xxx

No probs. It feels crap as it's all very new but I would say the separation agreement is by far the best and cheapest way to start it.

All the best x
