End of term....exhausted teacher here. DD has 2 weeks hols too, revision looms with GCSEs soon. She has asked us to help her, so we've worked on a revision timetable....today was to start at 9am, and do one/two hour slots throughout the day. I've sorted meals, tested spanish (!) and helped her get to grips with her RE creation stories this afternoon. She has been very slow to get to revision so day one - good start! She asked to go to her friends this evening so arranged to go for a few hours, come back by 8 to do an hour's history with her dad. He has arranged with her that she can stay until 9.30 instead which just happens to coincide with Coronation Street finishing. I am so irritated, tired and trying to do the right thing without putting any pressure on her. Furious and irritated. AIBU?

Furious might be a bit OTT. Give her til tomorrow given Easter will properly be over. As a fellow teacher, I don’t think I could cope with revision etc over the holiday, so I’m feeling plenty of sympathy with you.

Corrie finishes at 9pm.

It's day one. Unless he keeps palming it off I would assume he is just letting her enjoy her holidays? Sounds like you have a very diligent daughter being so organised (I know with your help). Smile

Ok. Thank you. Will take a breath and start fresh tomorrow. He has just brought her home and told her to do some history with him now! I've said it's too late now. She is happy, relaxed and ready to sleep. He is crackers and selfish today. Grrr

For me it would depend how many hours of revision she's done today. I have a dd revising for GCSEs too and I wouldn't stop her going out until 9:30 if I felt she'd worked hard all day.
