So here goes! A catalogue of events...
Hubby and I have been trying for a baby, no success after 6 months. I am miserable in my job although well paid and decent company I want to move on and have just been offered a new job, 2 months noticed handed in on Thursday!
Friday I come home to find my husband being arrested (he's a cop!) and no one will tell me what's been going on, turns out he's been sending messages and pics to another woman whilst at work, risks losing his job, whole career, going to court etc etc also risks losing me over not even having an affair. As if this isn't enough, you can guess what I have now found out I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant!!! You couldn't make this stuff up!

It's a terrible, terrible shitstorm he's brought upon your household. I don't know. I wouldn't want to invest my life and trust in someone who shits where he eats. It smacks of a person who doesn't value who he loves or who he works with. He sees his position as one of power, with little regard to the words of his oath. He's meant to prevent offense, not bring a stinking shitstack of it into his work place.

Big, huge, enormous fatal flaw. I don't know if your relationship can survive this. Good luck! Get all the emotional support you can. This is tough, really tough.

Surely he will only go to court if he has committed a crime?

Misguided messages to a colleague is unlikely to be a crime. OP, you are having the wool pulled over your eyes.

OP I work in your husbands field and can tell you that’s no arrest would be made for simply sending messages unless they had an element of criminality in them. For example harassment, or malicious communication meaning obscene or threatening possibly.
His employer will also not be at liberty to discuss the full ins and outs with you either as he is an adult and will be covered by data protection.
You will have been given the ‘full story’ by your DP which if he has been arrested suggests to me is lacking in detail.
His position high up or not does not enhance the likelihood of an arrest. The same threshold applies to all.
It may mean more in terms of a disciplinary investigation but that won’t happen until the criminal side is addressed.

Hope u are ok op

I’m assuming that if flirty messages result in an arrest, he’s been texting the victim of a crime?

If so, that’s utterly despicable.

Regardless, what he’s done to you is vile.

I’m not sure what you’re looking for from the thread since your defense of him likely means you want to stay with him, but if it’s advice you’re after, I’d say dump his arse before he runs your life completely.

Congratulations on the pregnancy.
