Ok so thought I would update
Do as expected didn't hear from him again after his huge apology and detailed medical history of his sister and her pregnancy issues 
So just got on with it and didn't give him a second though.. then today got a message on Facebook from someone I knew from school, saw them out and about last year chatted briefly but he had only recently come out of z relationship so wasn't looking etc... so anyway messaged me today (well last night but I got this morning) been chatting and he's asked me on a date Wednesday.... maybe things are actually looking up on the dating front.... I'm determined to make this my year for getting out there after been totally single and date free for last 2 years
