Is a break always the end?

I just need space. My space. For me. I love my own company. Dh and I have always had a rollercoaster relationship from the start; big argument, few days/weeks/months of AAA (affection, apologies, action) before it all pours out again. This is leaving me feeling on edge and stressed which is taking its toll physically with insomnia and headaches/migraines.

I want to suggest a break but he'll assume that's me ending it. How else can I phrase it?

If your relationship is making you ill, why wouldn't you want to end it? How would a break help?

Finola1step · 04/02/2018 10:14

The key question is why do you want the marriage to continue?

Fair point.

Sounds awful and I know what the classic mn response will be but we've got two young kids, one is mine from a previous rl and I can't have her put through a split yet again. He would also really struggle without me financially as I earn much more than him.

Sounds like you have three kids not two.

I don't see how the fact he cannot afford to live without you is a reason to stay with him.

That's his issue.

What positives does he bring to your life ?
