I left my emotionally abusive ex on Friday, tonight my 2 boys are snoring in bunk beds in our (rented 2 bed flat) on top of the world!!! Chicken dinner and a slightly prolonged bedtime, amazing, chin up ladies in difficult relationships, there is light. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well done for making such a difficult decision. I wish I was as brave as you 😢. I'm in an emotionally and financially abusive relationship and cannot see any way out. I don't have a penny of my own, or any family that I could go to with my two DCs, aged 11 and 3.
I so want to get us out of this awful situation but I have no idea what to do to make this happen.
He is currently ignoring us as he had an argument with our 11 yo last night as he didn't want to play fight with him. In the end our son got upset and came upstairs out of the way, then I got the brunt of his foul mouth as I stuck up for our son, so then it was all my fault Hmm.
He doesn't seem to realise he has a problem with drink or his anger.

Sorry to hijack your post but I envy you and your freedom Thanks

Xx

This has made me really happy for you. I can only imagine how difficult it was to leave an abusive relationship so I'm glad it's working out well for you and your children Smile

Indeed they do.
But so many stay for far too long.
I hope your story inspires just one person to make that bold brave step.
Well done OP.

anniefin sounds familiar!!!!! You'd be surprised though, I'm a nurse and work part time, with my wages, tax credits and maintenance I'm managing fine. Stay strong 💪. Xxxx😘
