How do I end our marriage?

I've decided I can't live with my husband's aggressive and manipulative behaviour and emotional abuse any more after he punched a hole in the bathroom door and called me a crappy parent.
I did see a solicitor a while ago who said I ought to stay in the house if I decided to leave, as although he owns it, I have rights to live here especially as I have two young children. But I'm not sure if I should just find somewhere else to live as I know he won't move out. The difficulty is that I don't really have the money. Only enough for a months rent. I currently get an income from his company but it's a very small amount.
Any support from anyone who has been through something similar would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are the children his, too?

Can you wait long enough to save a few months’ rent? I’d so, try to do that and then get the hell out of Dodge.

I would contact Womens Aid and the Rights of Women as they could advise you further on such matters. I would also find another Solicitor to work with and one at that who has vast experience in dealing with manipulative violent men.

Such a man as you describe rarely if ever leave easily or quietly and he will likely make all aspects of you separating from him as obstructive as possible. Hr will likely continue to remain difficult post divorce as well. This is another method of theirs of trying to have power and control over their victims.

Have you as yet started divorce proceedings?. This is no life for you or your children to be witnessing. They are living with domestic violence.

Yes, they are his 2 kids.
I wish I could save enough but I only just get by on the money I get now!

I have spoken to women's aid in the past. I should phone them again but I am never on my own (either he is around or the children are).
I haven't even thought about divorce yet. I am just getting my head around the idea of ending it/leaving. Once me and the children are 'sorted' then I'll start thinking about that
