Husband told me not to come home, I'm not welcome

Been struggling with my husband, bickering, fighting lots. We went out for dinner to try and rekindle romance .... it ended badly with an argument in the street. He told me "don't you dare fucking coming home, your not welcome" ..... now what?

BlackeyedSusan · 25/01/2018 22:04

you go home and if he is abusive you call the police.

BlackeyedSusan · 25/01/2018 22:05

easier said than done though. and get legal advice quickly.

Cheekyandfreaky · 25/01/2018 22:05

It’s your house too I assume? No one can chuck you out of your own home.

As for your relationship- doesn’t sound great. Is it time to call it a day?

Bluntness100 · 25/01/2018 22:06

Do you have kids? Were you both drunk?

GertrudeCB · 25/01/2018 22:10

Is he violent? Would it be safe for you to go home? If not go to a safe place for tonight then go home tomorrow .

DotCottonDotCom · 25/01/2018 22:10

It’s your home, I think he missed the point.

Wtf have your meant to have done to warrant that? Is he mad?

Gazelda · 25/01/2018 22:12

What do you want to do? Would you feel safe if you went home? Would it be easy for you to go to friends or family for the night and the look at this afresh in the morning?

Nowwhatdoidoimlost · 25/01/2018 22:23

Stupid argument, history of bullying. It's my house too. Going to spend the night with a girlfriend. Not drunk but had been drinking

Stay at your friends tonight then go home, change the locks when he wont be there and finish the relationship - which sounds like its over anyway. Hope youre ok. CakeFlowers

leftwiththedognow · 25/01/2018 22:34

Need more context before jumping on the assumed abuse bandwagon

speakout · 25/01/2018 22:35

Good idea OP.

Best not to go back tonight when you have both been drinking.

Sounds like a toxic relationship. I'd be getting out.

MyOtherProfile · 25/01/2018 22:36

Do not follow the advice to change the locks!

SlothMama · 25/01/2018 22:36

Go home? It's your house too! Cheeky git.

Omgineedanamechange · 25/01/2018 22:38

Cheeky fucker. Now you divorce the twat and make sure you get every last penny of your half of the house. Why are some men such entitled fuckwits that they genuinely believe that everything belongs to them and they are doing their wives and children a massive favour by sharing it with them.

leftwiththedognow · 25/01/2018 22:40

What was the argument about? Why have you been bickering?

Blackteadrinker77 · 25/01/2018 22:46

What has been causing the arguments?

Is counselling an option?

Greensleeves · 25/01/2018 22:49

He's probably quite surprised that his embarrassing selfish mantrum has actually led to you not coming home tonight.

He'll probably be full of shit-eating remorse tomorrow. Bin him anyway.

Seriously, how have you come to this assumption from SFA?

lizkt · 25/01/2018 23:10

Neither of you can exclude the other from the house if you jointly own it.

Definitely don't change the locks, as per previous advice.

Italiangreyhound · 25/01/2018 23:25

@Nowwhatdoidoimlost I hope you will find a good solution to this problem, of being in a relationship with a man who doesn't seem to care about you or your safety.

IShouldntPostBut · 25/01/2018 23:32

I'm assuming no children? And you both work?
Think of these:

  • First thing tomorrow morning, grab half the money in your joint accounts and use it to open an account in your name only.
  • Arrange to steer your income into the new account
  • Go rent a flat. Move out during the day while he can't interfere...
  • Consult an attorney
AnnieAnoniMouse · 25/01/2018 23:43

Cheeky fucker. Who died & made him god?

I’d have gone home (unless I feared for my safety).

Definitely time to file for divorce.

💐

AdoraBell · 25/01/2018 23:55

Good idea to stay with your friend tonight.

I would get some legal advice tomorrow. Cut your losses and get rid, but get that legal advice first.

maddening · 25/01/2018 23:58

Def see a solicitor in the morning and go back and get copies of all bank statements etc and sort money out
