To be pissed off that dh has gone to the pub even though he's got both kids tomorrow on his own, both under 5. It won't be a quiet pint it will be 4 or 5 and he's grumpy when hungover....

If you’re that bothered by it, call him and ask him to come back. No, it wouldn’t piss me off because it’ll be his problem if he’s looking after kids with a hangover tomorrow.

Weimaragi · 19/01/2018 21:38

It's also their problem if he's irritable and doesn't want to do anything because hes tired

Then give him a ring.

Weimaragi · 19/01/2018 21:41

He knew how I felt about it before he went :(

I think that is selfish. I don't think you should go out if you're meant to be looking after children the next day.

Minestheoneinthegreen · 19/01/2018 21:58

I'm a single mum. If I go out and have too much to drink, I have to look after dc alone the next day. It's a fact of being a grown up. If he feels ropey tomorrow, then tough, he will cope. It's just parenting. You don't need to parent the parent.

Weimaragi · 19/01/2018 21:58

That's how I see it rolling

Thanks mine I think your not parenting the parent is great advice and definitely something I'm guilty of Blush

Has he done this before and then you dont go out?

I agree just leave him and do what you were planning on doing - its his fault if he is grumpy

Bananalanacake · 20/01/2018 10:58

How often does he do it. Once a week or once every 3 months.

Offred · 20/01/2018 11:06

Definitely agree on the not parenting the parent.

I don’t drink anymore but when I did if I had the kids the next day I just got on with it if I was hungover. I didn’t get grumpy though TBH.

I can’t see why you would, you’ve got self inflicted illness, it’s not the kids’ fault and it’s bad parenting to think your kids have to accommodate your hangover. Hangover days I used to just medicate myself up to the eyeballs, drink a gallon of coke, have some fried food then get on with a normal day and crash as soon as the DC were in bed.

rollingonariver · 20/01/2018 16:41

It does depend on the situation but if your rarely leave him with the lies alone and the one time you do he's gone out late the night before I still maintain that's pretty shitty.
You need to know your children will be okay when you're out.

Mycashybear · 20/01/2018 17:24

I would be laughing out loud. He wants to go out and then deal with kids with a bad head tough on him. The kids will be fine they can sense these things and will probably make it really hard for him. Try not to worry let him deal with it.

Weimaragi · 20/01/2018 22:37

Just for the record he ended up coming home early and not steaming, all was well with the kids, thank you everyone for your comments
