Basically what I said in the title... he's irritable, tired all the time, headaches, random anger, seems stressed over little things, extreme social anxiety which has increased over the last couple of years. Doesn't really care about his appearance etc.. Not really sure how to confront him about it. He gets snappy with me if I ask if he's alright and try to get him to open up. He just seems down or stressed a lot of the time. Only time he seems happier is when he's on his own playing on his computer. He was an ambitious person around a year ago, now he tends to plan things when he's in a better but never do them.. even the simplest of things for example 'oh we can go on a walk this weekend if it's nice' but when it gets round to it he just slumps on the settee all day not moving unless it's to eat.. hate seeing him so unmotivated and down. It's putting a strain on our relationship because I just didn't know why he's been like this but upon research I've realised it could be this.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to maybe bring this up or even help him without bringing it up? Has anyone been in this situation?

Hi OP. It does sound like something is wrong. Have his eating habits changed at All? Depression usually makes you over or under eat. What is he doing on his computer? Is he just playing games or could he be talking to others or looking at things like porn etc. Has your sex life been affected? It could be deoression or it could be something relationship wise between the two of you. Does he work?

Sounds very much like me 7 months ago, then one day I went food shopping, and had a complete break down in the shop!

I would get him to see a GP as soon as possible
