......because I told him to stop talking to me like a child and making me feel stupid, which he's taken to doing lately.

I actually don't care. That's not a good sign, is it?

A good sign in terms of the relationship or a good sign in terms of you being more assertive? Flowers

I think it's good.

Better than you being upset and stressed out.

And at least you know in your heart what you want.

Seeingadistance · 06/01/2018 20:22

It's a good sign for you as an autonomous human being who deserved to be respected and treated with dignity!

It's a sign of that "Not" at the end of your name here coming loose!

I've recently realised that we've fallen in to me doing typical wife work, and deferring to him, asking permission for things, and kind of putting him first and him being the typical man of the house. So I started making subtle changes. He's not used to it yet.

He probably cannot get used to such a change from you in any case.

Do not go after him, let him storm off and stay out.

Why are you and he together at all given this from him?.

Gemini69 · 06/01/2018 23:41

He's used to it.. He just doesn't like it OP.. Flowers

Carry on. Good for you for demanding respect.

Adult tantrums are kind of hilarious if you can detach enough.

Imagine yourself telling a friend about this scene in a few years time, imagine the faces you'd make while doing an impression of him huffing and puffing as you and your mate laugh your heads off.
