Proposing to my DP in a few hours - Nervous as hell

My DP's birthday is new years eve. I am proposing to him tonight. I know it is not traditional but DP and I are in no way traditional. I am very nervous though - can anyone help settle my nerves?

Then come on here and moan mightily that they havent been asked and other women back them up and tell them he doesnt love her. I mean really. Just get rid of the petticoats and ask! I don't think I need to think about wedding plans my DC (aged 9 and 10) have self appointed themselves as wedding planners although my DS (who is ASD) wants a star wars wedding and my daughter on the other hand wants us to have a complete fairytale romantic wedding. This should be interesting.

thank you everyone. We went and looked at rings (I am in Australia so early afternoon here) but I am bloody fussy so taking some time to think. Any married women is it better to get the bridal sets?

Congrats OP. Dont bother with a set unless it's something you love. Any decent jeweller will find a wedding ring that goes with an engagement ring you pick out. DH picked my engagement ring and I ended up having my great grandmother's wedding band not that either of them for my sausage fingers since DD was born.

I didn't get a bridal set - I knew I wanted a plain wedding ring so it didn't matter about matching it to my engagement ring IYSWIM?
