I really shouldn't have split up with my lovely, kind, handsome, clever American BF for my ex. We're still friends but he is married to a wonderful woman, has beautiful children and lives in California near Yosemite national park. That should have been me

But then I wouldn't have my DCs who are the best thing that ever happened to me, bar none. And I could have gone off to the US as planned and then been run over by a truck the next week. You never know what would have happened in an alternate universe so you can't look back with regrets.
