Just this really...I called him out on this and he’s shouting that as it was from a manager I don’t like and have complained about the praise doesn’t count...I think he’s missed the point.

And he's totally missed the point. Getting praise from a manager you have a difficult relationship is brilliant. It shows that your performance is so good that your knowledge, performance and professionalism is recognised ahead of anything else. And as much as you might not like that manager, they are objective and professional. Unlike your OH.

I think you might have outgrown him OP. He sounds like he'd be resentful of any success you have that might make him feel inferior. Not that you would make him feel inferior. He's doing that all by himself.

For context I've been with my DH over 30 yrs. I'm the major earner by nearly twice but that doesn't matter. We are a true and equal partnership and share everything. I couldn't be doing with such pathetic behaviour.
