I would like to know have you ever had to tell your DH/DP not to tell your son to piss off? Or similar language? He is our 12 yr old btw (who was very upset that Dad spoke to him that way)

Maybe I’ve been dragged up, but when I was 12 years old, I was a little shit. Mum would have told me on many of occasions to piss off and I don’t think I ever recall it being totally unacceptable. More so my behaviour was.

What’s the context to the situation? If your son just wanted a hug or something, that’s different. But if he was slamming doors and was shouting abuse at his dad and his dad responded that way, I’d say he was just provoked x
