How did you and your dp/dh/dw meet?

Feeling quite negative on here and reading someone's post on how they met their dp (affair) made me think of how me and my lovely dp met and how exciting things were back then. (The getting to know each other ECT.)

I'd know my dp for years before we got together. No interest in anything like that for years then we got closer and suddenly everything was very intense suddenly fancied the hell out of him. We dated we fell in love moved to the city got new jobs and had a baby. And I still get butterflies! (Not as often but still there!)

So how did you meet yours? (Any exciting whirlwind romance stories welcome! Haha)

Met at work. Was a very intense 2 weeks but nothing happened. Came home gutted I would never see him again.

Now been together 3 years with a DD

Got chatting on Tinder, four weeks later I was on a pre-booked training course in his city so I invited him to come meet me for a night out, didnt know if I would fancy him, our texts had been completely demure. Kissed him within minutes, very drunken night out ensued for both, woke up with him in my hotel bed, both very hungover, didnt make the training course!!! He lived 60 miles away and still does. Got married in July and three years together two weeks ago. We'll move in together when my DD goes to uni, until then, we have a home by the sea and an apartment in a cool city to share 😊 that training course was the best thing that never happened!

I was walking home from a friends house at around 11pm one night, he was walking his dog. We swapped numbers and all’s going well so far 😊

He came into the pub I work in absolutely smashed with a group I was friends with. Instantly fancied him because he was funny and cheeky.

Saw him a couple of months later when he wouldn’t let me in his pub because my friend was drunk 😖

Met again after 4 months through the same friends I’d met him through originally and became friends ourselves this time. Within 2 months I couldn’t stand it any longer and told him I loved him. It took a good week for him to understand I was being serious. Haven’t been apart since. Married and we’re due our first dc together in May ☺️

Met on a site for adult relationships - were FWB for 4 months and feelings deepened.

He was a close friend of a close friend of mine. She said we'd love each other. We did. It was instant for me. Took him a couple of hours.

A mutual friend set us up on a blind date.

I was nervous as hell and had been at the wine whilst I was getting ready.. So was already very tipsy at the start of the date.. We clicked straightaway and I fell pregnant within three months.

That was 23 years ago and we are still going strong

Met when i was 29 (him 28) on OLD. Planned pregnancy just under 2 years later aged 30, had DS aged 31, pregnant with DD at 32, had her aged 33. Getting married in 2019. Is that a whirlwind?? I guess it is!

I was doing something like a pop up business (cultural) and trying to sell tickets for it. Bumped into a guy and he says to come along to a social club he's a member off and I can sell tickets there.

I went along a couple of weeks later. Sold tickets for the event..liked the people...then joined the club...
and met DH there.

Met in a dive of a nightclub. I was chatting to my friend and her bf and he (now dh) came up to me and just kissed me out of nowhere so I quite angrily slapped him. We got talking anyhow and he helped me get out of my emotionally abusive relationship. We’ve been together 8 years, married for 3. We met at a speed dating event for over 40s. While we were chatting my trousers split down the seam over my fat arse. He wasn't put off even when my drink came out of my nose because I was laughing so much. That was 12 years ago and I'm still spilling drinks regularly!

He was living next door to my parents (I was away at uni), came back one reading week and met his friends at the local village pub, they invited us back to their house and met him there. He’d just got back in from his graduation . His home town was where I was at uni so a month later when he was up visiting his parents I got together with him. Been together 21 years now

I had just started dating his best mate (also his house mate) who I met on tinder. My now DP walked into the room asking "whose anime films are these? I love them!" (They were mine). Apparently we both knew in that moment it was him I should be dating not his best mate! Took a couple months before we got together though. Now we have our DS (5 months) and are about to buy our first house!
