Real: my friend's brother, who was called Antonio and had amazing pale blue eyes. He was gorgeous and a week younger than me. He told me, aged 14, he couldn't go out with an older woman

A boy called Billy who lived on our street. I must have been about 4. He had gorgeous red hair. I'm still a sucker for redheads even though DH is blond.

Celeb crush Paul Newman. I never grew out of that one.

I have two older brothers, so plenty of early crushes from among their friends in real life.
My first celebrity crush at about 6 was John Boy from The High Chaparral.
But the one I never got over is Jeremy Irons from the time of Brideshead Revisited on.

11yo DD had her first celebrity crush recently on Jim Howick, the Shouty Man from Horrible Histories. I think she chose well and if her ideal man has smiley eyes, a GSOH and a great singing voice, she won't go far wrong!

I didn't actually write about my first real life crush when I posted earlier in the thread, and I'm not naming him because he had an unusual name for the 80s.

He was in my year at school, was a good friend and we used to go shopping together, he'd compliment my hair and clothes and I really really thought he fancied me too. I used to hang around the music room at break to be with him and even did an after school O level, an extra subject, because he was doing that.

The penny dropped a few years later. He was gay. Still very much in touch now and I think/hope he knows nothing of my crush.

Keanu Reeves - I had a point break poster on my wall and looking at him gave me butterflies in my tummy. I used to cry because we would never meet and never be together
