Stressed with life - how do I cope?

Please help me and give me some advice if tips on how to cope? I've completely lost my way and feel permanently melancholy. I really don't want to go on antidepressants and don't know what to do.

Today i completed a 12week private counselling session. It was chatged at whatever i could aford and i self referred in june. Things had been bad for years i couldnt see a way out counselling has helped me see the problems and not mask them try it if you can it was so worth it x

Being 30 is hard, or it was for me - I had high expectations about where I would be in life, career, relationship etc none of which had happened. It was an anxious time. It can help to understand that that's how it is for a lot of people. Very few find it easy to establish themselves in life and at 30 you've not had that long to work out what works for you.Getting to where you want and need to be takes years of persistence and at 30 you're not far into that process.
I agree there are some really good practical suggestions here. Try some of them, some will be blind alleys but one or two will deliver much more than you expect.

Thank you I'm going to try the things suggested. I've got a really stressful few weeks coming up and I desperately just want a weekend to recover and recuperate and just be and absorb what I need to do to feel better but it looks like I will be working and running around this weekend and all the weekends until early December.

Thank you for all your advice. I was worried that I just sounded a bit moany and not really like there was anything wrong even though I know how depressed I feel.
