I found receipts in my husbands wallet from a strip club. Im furious, I've told him on numerous occasions I don't like him going to strip clubs and asked him not to. When I confronted him, he admitted it and admitted he'd paid for a private dance. He said he gone there with a work colleague after a work event.

There was a transaction for £126 at midnight at the strip club and then another transaction for £420 at 01:08 and another transaction for £560 at 01:40 however that one was declined. He came home at 3am. The first receipt is from the strip club as it has the name on the top, however the last 2 look like they are from a different place, they just have a generic 'worldpay' heading at the top. I asked him about these receipts and all he said was that they must have been a 'mistake' and he was really drunk so 'couldn't remember'....could he have paid for a room? What the hell costs that much? part of me wants to know what the hell those transactions were for?
We've had a lot of issues, most of which stem from his drinking but I think this really is the straw that has broken the camels back.

I use a worldpay card reader for work, it's a small device paired with my phone. I'm telling you this as I have quite a few clients who are sex workers who also use it for card payments. Payments through anything like that or izettle etc I would assume are for 'small businesses' rather than larger establishments like bars.

Your husband paid for prostitutes, I would almost guarantee it. Time to take the blinders off. What a scumbag.

If you think he'll be awkward about maintenance hunt out and copy bank statements and payslips etc before alerting him to the fact you're considering leaving him.

DownTownAbbey - yes, I've got copies of payslips, pension etc. I collected all this info a while ago. Now this has happened I'm glad I did it. I need to make a solicitors appointment. I've got a wait for some money to come in (I'm partly self employed)...or I've been thinking about selling my engagement ring. Its the most beautiful ring, I'll never own another piece of jewellery like it. But I haven't really worn it since I found out about his affair, I'm never likely to wear it now so might as well sell it and use the money to see a solicitor.

Could it also be a girl walking round with a portable card machine and he's bought a bottle of champagne or grey goose? Possibly for the table. The girls will drink a bit as well, encouraged to - it goes down faster and they buy more. But seriously, what a loser. You'll be happier in the long run without him. Good luck

Escorts cost anything from £500 to £2000 for the night, maybe even more if it was a 3sum. Was he out all night or did he come home at some point?
Other explanations could be it was for expensive bottles of champagne or does he do cocaine? Maybe he was buying drugs?
I would definitely leave my DP if he spent such a ridiculous amount of money in a strip club and disrespected me to such a degree. He sounds awful!

I'm not excusing it but there's a huge chance he was being ripped off because he was paying by card. They have 60% mark up if you pay by card as everything has to go through the books.

£420 in central London would get him 90-120 minutes with one of the higher end girls. Us indies usually work with cash only but agencies frequently use card payments.
