Is 3 years too long to wait to get married after engagement?
(Disclaimer, not me just hypothetical)

My BIL and SIL have been engaged for 15 years.
They've just never got around to getting married.
Always found better things to spend their money on.

Having worked in the wedding industry 2-3 years is not unusual for traditional white wedding especially as the most popular venues and suppliers can be booked that far in advance.

I was only engaged 4 months, we'd been together almost 4 years and it ended in divorce. However I know several couples who were together a long time, engaged for a few years and then get married - ended in divorce but generally because they were Marrying thinking it would heal an already broken relationship.

Ultimately it's up to the couple. Only they know what's right for them.

It's a pretty weird hypothetical question Confused
