The Freedom Programme online - is it worth it?

I know it's only £10 but I've got a lot of things to buy for the DC at the minute! I would like to do it though - I spent six years and had three children with someone I am 90% sure was/is abusive.

The DC go back to school/nursery this week so technically I would have some time to do it, although I'm not even sure what it entails?!

Has anyone done it online?

Not in my experience, no.

BeautifulLiar · 04/09/2017 22:00

Oh really?

I think you'd find it more useful to go to a group.
There's probably one near you.

Lightheartedindeed · 04/09/2017 22:09

Not got much experience but my group is helpful and free
Can you find one near you?

EasyToEatTiger · 04/09/2017 22:21

Yes the Freedom Programme is worth doing. It is worth feeling that you are not alone and it can help you to build your confidence. I have found it better to do in real life. I have the books, but real life support means you don't live in denial.

I think the validation you get from the group experience is what makes it.
The book ' why does he do that' by Lundy Bancroft would be £10 better spent.

There's a group about 30 minutes away. I just got a bit anxious about parking and stuff...

I was the same re parking and getting there on time as due to everything that was going on I was experiencing serious time anxiety. All I can say is that as soon as I entered the group it was fine. I discussed my anxiety with the leader and the group and they made me feel totally at ease. Good luck OP

No worries good luck

I also agree that the Lundy Bancroft book, or attending a course in person would be MUCH better.

Good luck OP, it's a real eye-opener.

Namechanger2015 · 05/09/2017 22:06

I also used to get there late every week as it was so far away and started early after the school run. I explained to the course leaders that I would be late every week and they were lovely about it.
