I wake up in the morning with a feeling of dread

I have told my solicitor to start divorce proceedings. The police STILL haven't been in touch and my IDVA is away. I hope the woman holding the fort will help. This is horrible. My husband accused me of obstructing him by giving the marriage certificate to my solicitor. He could easily get one of his own if he wanted. I wish he would stop bullying and harrassing me.

My husband was at me this morning about the marriage certificate. He threatened me with what the family courts would say about me, and took the keys of 'his' car away telling me he would take me off the insurance. He told me I have a police record (I have been cautioned). I told him to stop bullying and harrassing me. He is just as Lundy Bancroft describes.

Clearly he has not been in touch with his solicitor or he would know that mine has already spoken to his. What a shit he is. What a nutter.

Oh Tiger he sounds just like my ex, or worse. Mine also did the car key trick. I called the police on him for assaulting DS and he managed to wriggle out of it. He then engaged a solicitor to defend him against my "false accusations"!

Its good you have an IDVA but a pain she is away. They should be able to chase up the police for you.

Be very, very careful. They up the ante when they see that you are leaving because they hate losing control. I think the "grey rock" approach is best. My ex became enraged by any perceived criticism from me.

Sounds awful OP Flowers. Might be worth looking into a non-molestation order (preferably with power of arrest) to stop him harrassing you. I got one and it has been bliss to not fear the harrassment i know i would get otherwise. Think you can get them even if you both still live in same property. You'll need to go to court to get it and pay if you're not eligible for legal aid but it's worth it of you can do it. Good luck for the journey ahead .

I am not engaging with him. I just told him to stop bullying and harrassing me. The police have finally got back to me telling me that there are problems finding someone who can do a video interview, so they are asking someone from the next door county if they can step in and be borrowed. It's all a bloody nightmare and sometimes I don't know what to believe. My solicitor and I are taking the friendly approach. I wonder if this will start to show my husband in his true colours. He would clearly rather shout and complain and blame me (no change there) than do anything himself, like speak to his solicitor and get advice, and get another marriage certificate if he really wants one. I don't have the only one in the world. I also see no need to give him my solicitor's name. What does he need that for? I only know who his solicitor is because they wrote me a furious letter, which I haven't read yet. My IDVA has, and so has my solicitor, but I need to keep my head on. My husband is trying very hard to get my head to fall off.
