Does anyone else have parents who are a bit loopy but in a harmless sort of way?

My Dad is currently camping with a bunch of tinfoil hatters worrying about the impending end of the world (quite genuinely) and my mum spent last weekend dancing barefoot in a crop circle.

No. I'm quite envious.

NoCapes · 20/08/2017 23:46

They sound amazing!
We need more stories about them Smile

Oh god I don't even know where to start Grin

Last time I visited my Dad, not seen him properly in years, we went to the cinema, my sister drove home, I got DS to bed and he made us a cup of tea, I'd barely sat down five minutes when he started asking me if I'd heard of (some conspiracy I've forgotten) and the double sunsets he'd seen pictures of on facebook. They are definitely true pictures and not photoshop, because he's seen several of them. NASA knows about all of this (alien business, pole shift, impending doom) but it's covering it all up in case it induces a mass panic.

My Mum I see more often, though I don't see either of them regularly as we moved abroad, but she leans more towards angels and fairies and unicorns and keeps trying to explain to me about the Split which I haven't the faintest idea what it is, but it seems to be some kind of spiritual version of a biblical event I can only compare to Original Sin.

Yep, mums an active Druid and dads still getting stoned and making movies aged 86. Me and my siblings and quite boring and straight in comparison!

SerfTerf · 21/08/2017 15:56

What's dancing in a crop circle all about?

SerfTerf · 21/08/2017 15:57

(Too scared to ask about "The Split")

theredjellybean · 21/08/2017 17:38

he started becomming adventurous in his 70's, now in his 80's is currently away back packing around india on the trains with several 'mates' all in thier 80's..having a hoot .

My mother is more conservative...

as a child i do recall it was all a bit 'the good life' at my house and lots of benign neglect

to be fair i have becomme one of those parents too and my DDs and DSDs recently told me i was the coolest mother they knew..i have taken up burlesque dancing as a hobby ...

FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 21/08/2017 18:01

My in laws fit into this category.
Harmless but a bit odd.
Have never thrown anything belonging to DH away, and I mean ANYTHING. Toys, schoolbooks, 6x Pepsi bottles with Star Wars pictures on 🙄
They cannot use cash machines (they're only early/late 50s!!)
They're frightened of online shopping
Don't pay anything by direct debit....

Need I go on?

A Druid Grin My mum has a friend who is a Shaman. She had a big falling out with her but then they made up and she had a healing experience so now they are okay.

Crop circle I'm not entirely sure, it seems her new facebook thing, apparently it's about being close to the Earth's energy. I don't think that they believe they're made by aliens or anything but I'm not sure what the point of them is otherwise.
