Wedding anniversary and a bereavement

Hi everyone
Wasn't sure where to put this so hope relationships is ok. My Dad unfortunately passed away very suddenly about a week ago.

It is my mum and dad's 50th wedding anniversary in early September. They were planning to be away on their actual anniversary, and I was planning on cooking them a special meal when they got back. Haven't bought an actual gift yet but was planning on spending around £100.

I don't want the occasion to go unmarked but I don't really know what I should buy as a gift. I always find mum really difficult to buy for. She has been incredibly selfless and busy as a long term carer both for my dad and sister. This means she hasn't had an awful lot of time to devote to outside interests. I have bought her lots of 'doing things' vouchers in the past which go unused due to her not having time.

Sorry this is so long. Thanks for any suggestions!

Take her out for a meal with friends or relatives - somewhere with a quiet atmosphere
