How long can a person refuse to cooperate

A family member wants to divorce her fa and EA partner after almost 30 years. He is absolutely refusing to communicate with her and will certainly not ever move out unless he is forced to. She has been to solicitor and decided to move out herself and then start proceedings. My question is how exactly do you force him to leave? She has tried before and he just refused to open letters etc . It's a very long story but my concern is he will just never leave. She is being more than fair by the way 50/50 split

This will be something for her solicitor to handle. He can't ignore things forever.

You can get bailiffs from the court to deliver the divorce petition.

The longer the husband refuses to cooperate the worse things will be for him. Because he won't get a say in how things turn out.

There's no way to force him to engage. But courts can send bailiffs, and so on. It will take longer and probably cost more, but it can be done.
