Bestie!

Wherever I've worked in the past I always seem to be the one with no 'bestie'? Yeah I chat along with people, anyone who happens to be in the communal kitchen at the same time as me, then it's back to the office to work.

I never seem to have that special connection with anyone, yet others do. I'm not sure if I'm feeling sorry for myself or just unable to sleep (because of the heat) and fancy a bit of a moan... anyone else, misery likes company (joke), lol.

That word makes my ears cringe.

I'm nearly a year into a new job and I'm the same. I tend to work, head down and go home. DH is my bestie.

GaynorGoodwin · 20/06/2017 20:06

@siwdmae; thanks I like to know I'm not the only one, lol.

The word 'bestie' should be taken out and fired into the sun

Bezzy is worse. Sickening

You need to set yourself some #squadgoals. In the meantime, just spend your time with the #famalam and you'll be fine.

runs away gibbering

I don't have a close friend at work - I prefer to (try to) remain on lightly friendly terms with everyone - it's easier then not to get sucked into any conflicts, gossip and clique-rivalry.

Rollypoly100 · 21/06/2017 13:49

Asmoto, agree. In my experience office friendships implode and become toxic. Better to just get on with work while being friendly (from a distance).

GaynorGoodwin · 21/06/2017 17:59

@Asmoto & Rollypoly100; agreed, as I really don't like cliques.

I thought when reading the title that someone else had watched the BBC documentary about George Best. The only acceptable use of Bestie in my view.
