Sex after baby

My little boy is nearly a month old so although not quite ready, starting to think more about having sex for the first time since his birth. I sustained a second degree tear which required stitches so although I recovering well, it's made me very nervous about the idea of having sex again. My DP is wonderful and not pressurising me in any way. We've spoken about it and he had said whenever I'm ready we can. I was thinking of doing it when my parents look after DS in a few weeks so we can go out, I can have a glass of wine to relax.

Just wondering, how long after having a baby did you have sex again? How was it and any other tips to relax? It feels like losing my virginity all over again Smile

8weeks with dc1 and it was very painful for months. I had an episiotomy ant it always felt like I'd been stitched a bit tight (not sure if that's possible Grin). Haven't dtd yet after dc2 who's 4 weeks but I only had a little tear this time and feel more comfortable there this time so hoping it'll be better. Need to get contraception sorted and then maybe in the next couple of weeks

2 weeks, but I had a fully healed graze with no tears or stitches.

I didnt tear but had an episiotomy and a lot of stitches and we dtd 8 weeks after birth. I was really nervous but we took it slow and it was fine. Lube sounds like a good idea though i have never used it myself. After dc2 we waited 6 weeks and after dc3 just 4 weeks. When you are ready you are ready.

About 4 weeks, couldn't countenance it until my neither regions were not the source of continuing interest to the medical profession. My DM used to go on about not showing up for the six week check up pregnant again, which was apparently very much frowned upon in her day! I understand they don't have 6 week check ups any more.

Around the 6 week mark with all of them, once I'd stopped bleeding like I was being butchered.

Honestly - the whole 'you might experience some loss for up to six weeks'... ha!

Wow - to the one/two week crowd... omg! I thought 4 weeks was bold. What about the bleeding/bruising?! Actually no don't answer that Confused
