Where does it stem from, if all female relations have been positive, does anyone know?

I wish I knew.
I've found out recently about my Ex and his complete disrespect for women, including me.
A lot of it nowadays seems to be down to porn and the subjectification (not a word but you know what I mean) of women.
Porn is how it all started with my Ex.

Those around him and their attitudes.

Experiences with other women - it doesn't have to be family members.

A strong porn habit, especially in middle age, IMO is a very clear sign of disrespect for women. The disrespect might be a bit hidden in everyday life e.g. at work as a 'professional' or at home as respectable married man, but scratch the surface and thats the underlying reality, and one day it tends to all crashing out.

Sometimes, I feel my husband hasn't got much respect for women. Orange why do you say muddle age especially, just wondering?

There are probably a lot of reasons. However, I have a suspicion that a lot of it stems from the way many boys are indoctrinated into viewing girls from a very early age. Every sexual act is considered an achiement that adds to the boy's status. The more advanced the act, the more status points. The more attractive the girl, the more status points. It is sexual objectification from a very early age and it is peer driven. Leading that into your question, if a boy is unsuccessful with girls it reduces his status, damages his self-esteem and leads to misdirected resentment. He sees girls collectively as the cause of his shattered ego, not his own lack of social skills or the unreasonable attitudes and sense of entitlement he's been fed by his peer group.

Just my own theory based on my observations so may be complete bollox.

I suppose the "pervy" middle aged man cliche, I think its a part of a selfish misogynist nature. IMO such men don't really appreciate women in real life except as 'objects', could not care less about their thoughts or feelings.
