Morning all.I hope everyone has a very very good day.

Thanks
seedsofchange · 10/04/2017 12:48

Lovely day here, woke up to dawn chorus as it was warm enough to leave the window open a crack all night!

burntnorton · 10/04/2017 13:21

Not so lovely here, weather can't quite decide what it's doing.

There's my dc finished half day today for Easter and I took holidays this week too. Let the chaos (and hopefully lie-ins) commence.

Oh V with a nc case you're wondering Smile

BGJ43 · 10/04/2017 13:33

Dawn chorus was lovely til I realised it was 630, and I'm working til midnight...... it's gonna be a looooooong shift!!

Training done, last run this morning, two shifts to work... OMG OMG OMG.... rather anxious, but in a kinda good way!!

Onwards!!

EmilyByTheRiver · 10/04/2017 13:40

nc here too.:)

I have been having bizarre flashbacks to the last time I got stupidly drunk with friends, and cringeing at what I said. The cringe woke me up at 3 am this morning and I could not get backto sleep- and it was ages ago.

I am working until 4 pm today then hope to plant some vegetables.:)

I had a silly thing today - our local library is staffed by volunteers (cheers LA cutbacks!). I have some alcohol books now overdue and I am scared to return them because I have 2 friends who volunteer! (Neither of whom I would be comfortable knowing this). So I have been anxiety-ising about how to return them! (I just made that word up, but it definitely describes it!).

BG I am really excited about your forthcoming event. Another of my 3 am thoughts was I really ought to start training for something. :)

burntnorton · 10/04/2017 18:47

I still cringe over things I've said many years ago Emily, typical overthinker me. Crap you couldn't get back to sleep though.

I take it you don't have self service in your library? We have a tray under a screen that we set them on and like magic it reads what books they are then push a button for checking in and out. This sort of witchcraft amuses me greatly.. don't even start me on the contactless cards, I feel like a magician waving their wand Grin Yes, I believe I'm getting old Smile Maybe extend the loan online and keep them in your bag until you're sure they aren't there that day?

Eek BG, how exciting!! We will all be rooting for you here.

Good day despite ds not particularly well with a cold - he bears illness like his dad Hmm Back very sore now so sneaked upstairs for some peace on my tablet and polished off two gu desserts myself in secret. Now queasy and full of sugar.

EmilyByTheRiver · 10/04/2017 20:12

Oh, the self service..... I had not thought of that at all! Grin

That's a great idea. :)

Hope your DS and your poor back is much better soon.

burntnorton · 11/04/2017 13:34

Thanks Emily, ds is much better. My back not so much but getting used to the bad days now. Can kind of deal with the pain better now I'm not stressing myself out there's something else sinister going on.

Having a lovely easy day today. Our first day of the holidays, we always spend it relaxing in comfy clothes and planning what we're going to do the rest of the time Smile My youngest would be overjoyed if I threw chocolate easter eggs at her for the next two weeks as that's what all her suggestions involved Grin

Hope everyone is having a great day!

EmilyByTheRiver · 11/04/2017 14:14

Your first day of holidays sounds great. :)

All okay here. :)

BGJ43 · 14/04/2017 06:53

On my way to the race... OMG Weather is looking great, fingers crossed.... PS I still hate porridge!!

EmilyByTheRiver · 14/04/2017 07:17

Goodluck!

burntnorton · 14/04/2017 09:14

So today's the day BG!! Best of luck to you! You've done all the groundwork, I'm sure it'll go great.

Hope everyone else is ok? Quiet around here with the hols. I've been fairly busy taking the dc out and about. They want to go to the big park today but weather doesn't appear to be agreeable thus far. Amazing how much more time and effort you have with booze out of the way. Gone are the days I would have been dreading heading out as I was feeling rough and getting impatient wanting to be home to open a bottle.

Still didn't stop me having a vodka dream last night.. wtf I barely drank vodka. Checked my stop smoking app this morning as I never look at it and tealised I'm over 100 days off the cigarettes too Smile

Off to get motivated, have a good Good Friday Smile

EmilyByTheRiver · 14/04/2017 11:48

Hi burnt.

Congrats on the 100 days not smoking!!!!

Okay here. Ds is quite grumpy though so I am about to take him to the library.

Hope everyone is fine.

seedsofchange · 14/04/2017 12:46

Good luck BG ! Well done on not smoking burnt
More veg planting to do today up the allotment. Taking packed lunch and book and flask of tea and squash as well as tools and plants. Trying to stay away from house as much as I can as family situation is very tense. May go to a meeting later as I feel a bit vulnerable at the moment.

EmilyByTheRiver · 15/04/2017 10:01

Morning all.

Hope things are better today for you seeds. Thanks

I am working all morning while DH looks after the child- I can hear them thumping and running about upstairs... must not go and check what is going on .

Onwards.

EmilyByTheRiver · 15/04/2017 10:02

Oh, I was post 666. Adding a quick superstitious post in. Grin

seedsofchange · 15/04/2017 10:17

Lol!

EmilyByTheRiver · 15/04/2017 17:39

Hi everyone,
finding it hard this afternoon. It's the T part of HALT. And the fact for some reason we have white in the fridge.

Gulping down herbal tea by the bucket load because I am not going to succumb. I know that, but am feeling a bit grouchy!

How is everyone?

seedsofchange · 15/04/2017 17:41

Can you get rid of the white? Take it out of the fridge so its not chilled? Put it in the shed/car/somewhere else?
Stay strong and play the tape to the end?

EmilyByTheRiver · 15/04/2017 17:45

Yeah, I'm going to get DH to get rid of it. He does not even drink white so not sure why he bought it. I commented to him;'I'd sell my firstborn for a drink' and he just looked a bit perplexed and asked why I don't just have one.

He's genuinely a total normie- does not understand the twists and turns and agonising I go through! He's supportive though when I say I do not want to.... bu the wretched man can quite literally not touch a drop for weeks and not even notice. (I notice though- I count his days in my head). [grrrrrrrr] Grin

How are you seeds

burntnorton · 15/04/2017 17:46

Second taking it out of the fridge if you can't chuck it. Warm white wine doesn't have the same appeal at all. As for tired any chnace of taking yourself somewhere quiet to rest or an early night? You've got this and can do it Smile

EmilyByTheRiver · 15/04/2017 17:47

bath and early night planned.:)

I'm feeling calmer now just talking to you both.:)

burntnorton · 15/04/2017 18:05

Managed to x post. Glad you're getting dh to get rid and feel calmer. The normies are infuriating, dp has drink in her fridge from during the summer ffs. Weirdo Grin Bath and early night sounds like a good plan, might do the same myself.

EmilyByTheRiver · 15/04/2017 20:29

In bed now with a Wilkie Collins mystery. I did not succumb and the urge passed anyway by dinner time. Very pleased with myself as it would have meant a momentary pleasure then days of beating myself up.

Thanks all.Night. :)

BGJ43 · 15/04/2017 21:02

Quick update.... 115km of racing done, body in bits but surviving!!

Support crew determined I'm having a gin when I finish, but I don't want... will make my excuses, but it's an effort I shouldn't have to make....

Onwards!!
