Hi all, glad everyone had a good successful weekend.

God how annoying Ruby but good for you for staying strong under pressure.

Another weekend done. Have a gp appointment tomorrow, been suffering a lot of gynae issues and safe to say I am bricking myself about it. Barely been able to eat all week with nerves. Weight drops off me so I'm avoiding the scales as I can tell I've lost a bit I couldn't afford to. Going to speak to her about my anxiety too while I'm there.

Honestly I can't guarantee if it's not great news that I won't drink. I'd like to be able to handle things without booze but no promises. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it though.

BGJ43 · 02/04/2017 20:15

We can cross the bridge together if it's easier.....?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for better news.....

Onwards, chocolate milk for all......

Vidorra · 02/04/2017 22:15

Flowers thank you so much BG, the support means a lot. Following your lead with a hot chocolate in bed and my kindle.

Night all

Rubyredlips · 03/04/2017 08:08

Morning all. Hope appointment goes ok Vidorra message when you have been and we can support Smile

Lovely message Carte. Hope your anxiety is a bit better? Is it possible for you to go to therapy to talk it over? I'm going next week because I also feel paralysed with anxiety at times and it is horrendous.

Belle has really helped with my sober journey so far. I've read her books and first couple of months of her blog. I want to read the whole year but not worked out how to get hold of it yet. I find her daily emails amazing.

I think Belle helped me with my friend on Friday who wanted me to drink, I have been reading another book too that helped. I kind of understood that my friend was feeling the buzz of alcohol and thinking I was missing out (been there, I have always been confused about people who don't drink Hmm). So I just ignored her! I did play the tape through to the end and thought god what if I have one, I might wake up in the morning (having had more than one cos I'm not sure I would stop)

Have a good day. Day 24 (amazed)

I

Rubyredlips · 03/04/2017 08:08

Oops wrote an essay Grin

Vidorra · 03/04/2017 11:49

Back and all good Grin Grin Series of easily fixable coincidences alongside what they believe is my dodgy back referring pain down that region. I have never felt so fucking relieved!! Was that nervous I started waffling on about 'the great wall of vagina'. I don't think she had a clue what I was talking about and I cringed deeply on the way home.

Rubyredlips · 03/04/2017 17:51

Ha! Love the Great Wall comment Vidorra . Glad all is fine down below

BGJ43 · 03/04/2017 20:54

Vidorra brilliant news!!

Flowers
Vidorra · 03/04/2017 22:15

Cheers it was a huge phew moment.

In other news in a few short hours I reach my 100th day!!

My brain is doing the maybe you are overreacting thoughts - sure what's a binge every now and again (ahem once or twice a week), it's not like you're drinking copious amounts a week like you were years ago. Why oh why is it always milestones I have to tread carefully?

I think I'm shooting them down with no matter the amount, alcohol generally adds nothing to my life. About 10% fun, 90% shame, anxiety and regret. The stats don't seem worth it Grin

BGJ43 · 04/04/2017 06:04

vidorra congratulations on 100 days.... #awesome

Just another day on the way to 3 months.... (but brilliant all the same)! Do whatever it takes to dodge the temptations, cake, chocolate, haribo - anything but that first drink...

10 days til my ultra, diet out the window as nerves start to build - I hate this part...... but the training is done so need to keep the faith!!

AliceByTheMoon · 04/04/2017 08:02

Vidorra 100 days!!!!! woohoo!

Rarity75 · 04/04/2017 08:32

Morning ladies. I've been busy over the last week or so, in between collapsing in a heap somewhere!

viddorra 100 days!!! That's brilliant!

Day 28 here and I'm pretty happy with myself Smile

Hope everyone has a lovely day Smile

Vidorra · 04/04/2017 16:05

Thanks all. Feeling better today and treated myself to three bunches of fresh flowers to dot round the house, always makes me smile having flowers in the spring, Also a necklace (cheapie as my fridge/freezer is on its way out so ordering a new one at the end of the month) and of course some nice dessert for after dinner Grin

I've never done an ultra BG but have ran a few halfs and was almost finished my training for a marathon when the old back gave out. That restless taper period and wanting to get it over and done with feeling sounds familiar Smile I'd imagine you'd be focusing more on diet now?

Fabulous going on 28 days Rarity, hope things quieten down for you soon. Least you're kept busy eh Smile?

growingseeds · 04/04/2017 17:35

Congrats Vidorra!
I lapsed last night :( not very pleased with myself :( So fed up with Day 1s again.

Off on a yoga retreat next week - no alcohol, no technology - looking forward to it.

BGJ43 · 04/04/2017 18:22

vidorra I'd love to explain further, but worried it would out me.... it's a multi day event with 34, 36, 38 and 17 miles on four consecutive days. Part of the rules is that I must have a Support crew who are responsible for meeting with me regularly and feeding/watering me...

I've lost over a stone in weight between the training, but mostly due to chucking the booze (race has been a great excuse socially) so not overly concerned now about my weight for racing.... I just eat crap with the nerves... or rather, just less disciplined... Haribo consumption is climbing!! But I'm not hitting the wine to 'cope' and I can live with that for now...

It's rumoured to be a bumper entry this year, so excited to see the official start list... I still can't imagine the veteran ladies category being huge!!!!!!!

Onwards.....

Rubyredlips · 04/04/2017 22:40

BGJ I know what race you're talking about. You must be super fit. I'm very impressed

BGJ43 · 05/04/2017 07:48

stubborn and stoopid might be a better description - but I love it all the same.....

9 days to go - bought my colleague malteaser bunnies as i am so distracted, and she's having to deal with more than she should at her level - she's a star Star

Onwards

AliceByTheMoon · 05/04/2017 07:51

Morning all.

:)

Sober yoga retreat sounds really good and restful. Thanks

BG the ultra sounds amazing! And scary and exciting! Good luck!

growingseeds · 05/04/2017 09:10

Morning Alice xxx lovely morning here, off to do the chickens

SarahSober · 05/04/2017 09:13

Chickens very happy now they are allowed out side again. Then I have veg beds to plant up. So glad I don't have a hangover!

Vidorra · 05/04/2017 10:11

Morning all Smile

No further explanantion needed BG. Haribos are a form of carbohydrate and thus needed Grin Sounds amazing if not absolutely exhausting, how long does it take for you to recover from that?

Yoga retreat would be bliss growing, am I remembering that you did one before or getting you confused with someone else?

My neighbour keeps chickens and I can see them from the bedroom window. I've noticed the eggs still have stickers saying they've been housed temporarily for their walfare, bird flu isn't it? Do you have to worry about that when keeping them yourself?

Exhausted and having a bad back day when yesterday was great. Regardless, in good form.

Think I'll feed the dc early tonight and take them down to the library for an hour. Now the weather is getting better I'm weaning them off screens, swear it's like an addiction to them. If I had to listen to 'I'm bored' one more time yesterday I was gonna squeal. It's totally foreign to them the fact that I barely had any kids tv and no computers growing up. I fear talking about things like that make them think I'm ancient Grin

SarahSober · 05/04/2017 10:32

Yes I had to house them undercover/inside for three months. It was hard!
Yes I went on a yoga retreat last year. It was Fab. I'm really looking forward to it :) Am so stressed with family situation ramping up again, just need to get away.

SarahSober · 05/04/2017 17:57

Well today has been even more shite than the rest of the the week so far.
Off for a swim and then a massage.
Really can't take much more shite today

BGJ43 · 05/04/2017 18:40

sarahsober I couldn't agree more Sad

SarahSober · 05/04/2017 19:04

Oh dear, what has happened with you :(
