Hurt is turning into hate

Ok 7 months separated from cheating ex. I'm feeling way better than previous months. Able to see more clearly that I'm better off without him and have a far more pleasant life.

Yet I detest him more than ever. He's kept on lying and disrespecting me. I made an effort in the early days but now the thought of parenting with this awful man makes me feel ill.

Is this a recognisable stage that will pass? ???

It's part of the change curve.

Stage 1: shock, denial
Stage 2: anger, fear
Stage 3: acceptance
Stage 4: moving on

My advice is to only ever (ever!) communicate with him in relation to contact with the children. Don't communicate with him outside of that. Ever.

Without knowing more, it's hard to advise. But, I do know that hate eats at you. Sounds like you had a lucky escape.

Yes vagabond I've only just come to that conclusion myself. Contact has simply encouraged lies and been used to hurt me further.

thatwaslulu I feel fear too. Anxiety over what's going to happen next with regard to access, Xmas, his wedding day. Roll on stage 4!
