this is mixed in on another thread, but i had to start a fresh one because my DF is never sentimental or romantic but i just found out he entered us in competition to win 'the ultimate wedding' and he put this as his entry...

'My girlfriend and I have been together since we were 15. 7 years and 2 sons later she is still as beautiful as the day we met. She devotes every moment she has to our small sons and i desperatly want to give her the special day she deserves as i love her so much'

how sweet is that?!

oh, I vaguely remember my dh being romantic....(think it was our wedding day 12 years ago

How very lovely kittylette, even if you don't win, it sounds like he's a keeper

fortyplus · 12/02/2007 10:42

Arrgh!!! You're 22??!! I am old enough to be your mother! [Runs off to apply wrinkle cream emoticon]

fortyplus · 12/02/2007 10:45

No, seriously... that's lovely. Someone I knew at school has been with her husband since they were 14. They didn't get married until they were 38 and had IVF triplets at 40!!
Hope you win - he sounds lovely

kittylette · 12/02/2007 10:45

One of my friends married 'the boy next door' (her friend's big brother) who she fancied from when she was 11 and he was 14.
They didn't go out till she was 19 but they even run a business together!

paulaplumpbottom · 12/02/2007 11:21

I imagine most of our husband feel this way. Wish they said it more. Good luck with the competition Kitty.

OrmIrian · 12/02/2007 12:45

That's lovely kitty! Good luck with the competition.

My DH said something so wonderful to me along those lines on Saturday evening that we ended up in bed . At 5pm-ish with DD and DS#2 downstairs watching Basil Brush (I think). .

He really is a good 'un - just have to keep reminding myself.....

Jbck · 12/02/2007 22:27

That's really lovely kitty, my Mum/Dad married the boy/girl next door 40 years ago, they orginally met when they were 14 & 15 so it can last.
