Am I a grumpy git, or should he get off his ring piece?

I've recently started work, and to be honest, finding it hard going, I'm up at 6.30 out of the house at 7.30 and back home between 2.30-3.00. Also, I have to set off sometimes later because he cannot do their hair, which means I have to rush

Bearing in mind, dh works 12 hour shifts etc, he has 4 days on and 6 off. Yesterday I came in and he had emptied the tumbler, filled the washer and that was it, he saw how tired I was and promised me that today he would get up at 2.45 today to pick the kids up so that i could relax, hence, he didn't get out of bed, when I went up he was laid wide awake watching cricket, he has now just graced me with his presence after at 1hr 15min bath, since I got it at 2.30 I've

Picked kids up
tidied living room floor
put stuff in compost bin
emptied dishwasher
reloaded dishwasher
done tomorrows uniforms
done tomorrows pack lunch
Given the guinea pigs fresh water
Fed the guinea pigs
Fed and watered the cats
Made the kids tea
Put our tea in the slow cooker and steamer

I give him his dues, he did work 12 hours last night and got in at 7.30, but I thought at least he could have at least put the stuff in the compost bin, emptied the dishwasher and put another load in the washing machine.

I can see it coming to head shortly, what do you think? Am I right, should he be giving me more help? or am I just a grumpy git

He works 12 hour shifts. You work far more, you don't get to relax at home, like he does.
