Womens aid solicitor appointment

I have booked in for an appointment at the local women's aid with a solicitor. I haven't yet managed to meet/speak to my case worker but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should be getting together and taking for the appointment paperwork wise?

Hi Summer, what do you hope to discuss at the appointment? Are you looking for accommodation, do you have DC, do you work?

Like PP said, as we don't know the background not really sure.
But if you can find any bank statements, pension information, wage slips, anything that will help to find out how much your partner earns.
Is the house mortgaged?
If so, who's names are on the deeds etc....
I would suggest getting other paperwork out of the house if you can.
Passports, marriage cert (if you are married, you will need this for divorce)
Birth certificates, etc.....
If you have kept a diary of events take that with you.
Any police incident numbers.

Hi Thanks for getting back to me. I have lost of things to one side.
Sorry yes I was vague in opening post.
Have a mortgage both names on it, have young children and I am working full time.
No police reports (but am looking into doing this)
Do have a kinda diary only wrote a few things into it though(knew I would need to face things if I continued writing it).
I have rough idea on earnings and savings.

Aim is to talk mainly about custody as was advised likely 50/50 so want facts before make my final decision.

You sound well prepared. Can you take a friend with you? Also probably best to have DC looked after during your appointment so you can have a proper chat.

Hi yes my dc won't be with me at it. Good idea about taking someone I will see if any of my friends who know are free.
