Is it normal?

...to go through life with plenty of failed friendships?

Have you had people you haven't seen eye to eye with, disagreed with on things (causing ends of friendships), people who stop contact for no apparent reason.

For some reason, it's bothering me far too much this weekend, not sure why when I've managed to get on with things previously.

Feeling lonely, when normally I'm a strong independent single lady.

No Cheese I don't admit it. It's a mixture of pride and fear of further rejection. I'm nearly 50 and think who would actually give a flying fart (apart from the DCs - but they're kids so a bit selfish anyway)

I've ended a reasonably long term friendship myself this weekend, one that's been floundering for a while and I now feel a massive sense of relief for it. Basically, if it's more hassle than it's worth, it's not a friendship worth having.

I can't be doing with superficial friendships, bitchiness, cliques, or high maintenance people which probably explains why most of my longest and best friends are male

I've also sort of naturally grown out of friendships with people as I've got older, one in particular who made a series of catastrophic life decisions and I was fed up of dealing with the fall out.

It doesn't bother me though. I make new friends fairly easily and quite regularly Smile

Well looks like I'm better off without friends, good job I love my own company. Been let down again today.
